This is pretty much how we’ve all been feeling today:

growing pains

Nadia is teething, and it’s clear her little mouth hurts. Lots of drool, lots of chewing on her fingers, and she’s been telling me she has mouth boo-boos. I can’t really see any indication of teeth about to break the surface, but I’m sure she’s working on those 2 year molars. She’s always been this way with teething – no swollen gums but suddenly one day there’s a tooth there where there was none the day before.

Me, I’ve been sick for a while now. It started as just a mild cough but it’s hung around for nearly 3 weeks, worsening instead of getting better. It’s nothing that major, but it’s annoying to feel like that for weeks on end! Finally yesterday I went to the doctor and now I’m on antibiotics for a sinus infection as well as meds for the cough. I’m starting to feel better now – yay!

Hubby’s had the same thing as me, although his just started last week. He went to the doctor today and I was shocked to discovered how serious it was for him. Honestly he’s the biggest baby when even slightly ill, so I didn’t think it was that bad. But the doctor was quite concerned and said it’s the worst case of bronchitis he’s seen in a while, and it’s aggravating his asthma and making his airway close up; so he pumped him full of steroid shots, gave him a nebulizer treatment and sent him out the door with a handful of prescriptions. Now hubby keeps saying “wow, it feels so great to be able to breath again!” So I’m feeling a little badly for doubting the severity of his illness.

So my little family has been a ragtag bunch lately. Hopefully now that we’re all on medication we’ll be 100% soon – “ready to fight tigers” as my Dad used to say. :o )
